Coconut Oil - Natural Dry Hair Remedy

Natural Hair Care

Coconut Oil- Is it the cure to your dry hair? If you suffer from dry hair, you know that most moisturizing products only add a temporary gloss to your thirsty dry hair. The reason that most moisturizing products will not actually help your dry hair condition is because they cannot actually penetrate the hair shaft. Most oils and moisturizers contain mineral oil or lanolin as the moisturizer. These products only coat your hair and provide the illusion of moisture. Water based products can actually penetrate, but they can make relaxed or heat styled hair swell. Virgin coconut oil is an effective moisturizer because it actually penetrates the hair shaft to moisturize the hair from within the strand. It also helps to prevent protein losses from the hair so that the hair is stronger and less vulnerable to breakage. Coconut oil can be used as a pre-shampoo moisture treatment and as a daily moisturizer. It is important that you use Organic, Virgin Coconut Oil. This oil is not processed. It is solid at room temperature and turns into liquid at 76 degrees F. To use the coconut oil as a daily moisturizer, simply rub a very small amount into the palm of your hands and rub through your hair. Do not focus on the scalp, but the actual hair strands instead. This can be done as often as necessary. However, you should start with a very small amount and add more as necessary. Putting too much coconut oil in your hair at one time will cause it to become greasy and heavy. To use coconut oil as a pre-shampoo moisture treatment, you would apply to dry hair (or wet) hair and cover with a conditioning cap. Allow the oil to stay on the hair for 30 minutes with or without heat. Proceed to wash the hair as normal. Virgin coconut oil is also effective as a skin moisturizer. It is also used in cooking. It is the absolute best moisturizer for relaxed hair and dry hair types.

Essentious Hydrate Moisture Treatment provides much needed moisture to dry hair types. It is enhanced with organic honey and coconut oil to penetrate the hair shaft and help hair retain moisture.
