Sodium Lauryl Sulfate- It is the main ingredient in most shampoos, but it can be causing your hair problems. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or SLS, is used in engine degreasers, floor cleaners, and other industrial cleaning products. So why do we find it in our shampoo ingredient list? Well sulfates in general are cheap cleaning and lathering agents. They give your hair a squeaky clean feeling by stripping the natural oils and strength from each strand.
